BOSTON (AP) — Hunter Renfroe hit a three-run, first-inning homer and Los Angeles held off the Boston Red Sox 5-4 on Monday in the annual Patriots’ Day game that had Angels’ two-way star Shohei Ohtani’s pitching start shortened by a long rain delay. Renfroe drove in four runs, helping the Angels avoid a four-game series sweep. Ohtani gave up a run in two hitless innings, walking the leadoff hitter and throwing two wild pitches before Rob Refsnyder’s run-scoring ground out. He’s given up only two runs in 21 innings over four starts this season.Renfroe, who hit 31 homers with the Red Sox in 2021, hit a 95.6 mph sinker from Brayan Bello (0-1) into the last row of the Green Monster seats during a four-run first. Brandon Drury added a sacrifice fly in the inning.Rafael Devers’ RBI single off Carlos Estévez sliced the score to 5-4 in the ninth. But Estévez struck out Refsnyder and got Masataka Yoshida to pop out with two runners on for the final out and his second save.Unlike most years wh...

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema reported raising just over $2.1 million in her first full fundraising quarter since leaving the Democratic Party, a smaller haul than the $3.7 million raised by Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, who is hoping to win her seat in 2024.Sinema, who has not said whether she will seek a second term, still had a formidable $10 million in her bank account at the end of March, including money she’s raised in the four years since her last campaign. Gallego had $2.7 million at the end of the quarter. The senator’s fundraising is closely watched for clues about her plans and how she might finance a difficult three-way race as an independent. Sinema and her aides insist she is focused on her job as a senator and isn’t thinking about a potential reelection campaign. The Arizona Senate race is one of a handful that will determine which party controls the U.S. Senate in 2024. Democrats currently have a 51-49 edge and face a tough path to maintaining their...

U.S. investigators have examined whether the man charged with leaking a trove of classified documents interacted with anyone from a foreign country or government before posting it online, according to three people familiar with the probe. There is no clear public evidence that Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, held such connections or was a part of an organized foreign operation, as some U.S. and Ukrainian officials have suggested. But the Biden administration and law enforcement agencies have looked for any contact he had with foreigners as part of a wider investigation into the motivations and intent behind his alleged leaking of the classified information, the people said. Even tho it appeared to rain the entire day, most towns only picked up around 0.10″ of rain or less! When you look at the month of April, 7 of the 17 days have featured some sort of rain occurring (rain, drizzle, mist)But when you take a closer look at those “green squares”, days with rain, you see this…Not much meaningful rainfall so far this month. Moving forward, I think we are dry for the rest of the week until perhaps Sunday. Tomorrow is brighter than today but not a brilliant sunshine-y day either…We’ll start with sunshine during the early morning hours and then see ...
